Escaping (Poseidon and Savanna only)

Savanna walked toward the pavilion, a book in her hand and her iPod in the other. Shadow rested on her shoulder like she always does and Savanna's low, quiet, solemn voice sang softly. Her thoughts were peaceful for once; undisturbed for once. They were miles away from the drama that was going on in her life. Jonny-Boy, Anthony and her father were the last things on her mind as she sat down in the middle of the pavilion. No one usually went to the pavilion, so it was a perfect getaway.

Unwrapping her earphone, she put them into her ears. Quickly picking a simple song that didn't cause Savanna to think too much, she opened her book. It was Wuthering Heights. The book was full of drama, romance and hatred. Close to her drama in real life, but it caused her to calm down. Strange... but, it made her feel a lot better.

As she got about a chapter or two into the book, Savanna noticed that two feet were standing in front of her. Glancing up, Savanna looked at the person blankly, not fulling realizing who the person was.

Poseidon had been contemplating a visit to visit his daughter Kayleigh for a while now but just didn't know how to approach her. He was on his way when he noticed Hades daughter Savanna sitting at the pavilion. "Interesting" He said walking forward to her. He stopped half feet away wondering what she would think but shrugged the thought off and continued walking until he stood right in front of her. He smiled down at her as she looked up at him.

"Hello little niece. What might the daughter of my brother be doing all alone on such a fine day?" He asked sitting down next to her. He wondered if she was able to figure out who he was, if she couldn't he'd be a little upset but he would get over it. It wasn't like his own daughter knew what he looked like so he didn't expect his niece to neither.

He looked at to the lake and made the waves turn over just a bit so she would get the hint of who he was just in case she didn't know. He was a bit of a pride taker and while his brother Zeus was powerful.. He liked his oceanic control.

When the man called Savanna his niece, he dawned on her whole he was. It had to be Poseidon, because there was no way Zeus would come down to the Camp to see his kid. Savanna has heard the stories between those too. But, surely Poseidon was more likely to come visit his child. "Hello uncle." Savanna replied, taking out her earphones and setting down her book. Savanna watched as he sat down next to her. "Just sitting here reading, escaping the drama." Savanna replied vaguely, looking at Poseidon skeptically.

Savanna wondered if her father was still mad at. It wasn't unlikely that he was. Savanna knew that her father wasn't very happy with the fact that she was dating a son of Aphrodite. Savanna didn't want to say something to Poseidon that he could tell her father. Her father always seemed to find a way to turn things on her when he was mad. Yet, Savanna didn't know if the brothers were on good terms. No one was really on good terms with Hades.

Poseidon stole a look at the book she was reading. "You are escaping drama... to read drama?" He asked raising an eyebrow. "You can trust me, I won't tell your father anything to get you into trouble." He said knowing the look on her face, the skeptical look, it came with not knowing your family or being able to know if you can trust them Poseidon understood that. He also knew how unfairly Hades treated Savanna grounding her for unreasonable terms.

Poseidon was as usual was not on good terms with Hades but was with Zeus though was anyone ever on good terms with Hades? He didn't think there was a time he was, but he could be wrong. It had been a while since he had seen Hades last and wasn't sure if he wanted to but it was his brother. "How is your dad doing? Not treating you to badly is he?" He asked not sure if he wanted to know the answer or not.

Savanna made a sound of shock and slight anger when her uncle took her book away from her. "Surprisingly, when one is faced with drama, it is surprisingly easy to get your mind off it when you are faced with another's drama." Savanna attempted not to snap at her uncle. She snatched her book back gently, setting it to the other side of her, making sure that her bookmark was still in her place. "Trust..." Savanna murmured, playing with a loose strand on her jean shorts. Trust was an uncommon word for her to use or to hear. Savanna finally relented. "Its just stupid girl issues that every single girl on this planet has faced." Savanna gave her uncle a pained look. "I have an overprotective father who hates my boyfriend and my old best friend is in love with me and trying to ruin my relationship. Add the fact that I've formed quite the awful reputation doesn't help." Savanna felt good being able to vent. She was very thankful that her uncle was here to listen.

Laughing at Poseidon's question, Savanna shook her head in an amusement fashion, Savanna raised an eyebrow at her uncle. "I guess he's alright. We are fairly close for a God and a demigod child. I have my own room in the Underworld now." Savanna said unenthusiastically, even though she was happy about it. "He's treating me alright. He grounded me for dating my boyfriend. I don't have my sword anymore... which is awful." Savanna shrugged. "I'll survive though."

Poseidon nodded knowing he had done wrong to take her book out of her hands and felt a little bad about it but he done it and couldn't take it back now. "Sorry Niece, didn't mean to just take your book like that. That makes a little sense though about using drama to stop thinking about your own drama." He said letting her snag her book back then watched her pplace it down with the bookmark in its place. Poseidon looked at her seeing the pain look in her eyes and felt bad for her. "That is something I don't fully understand, girl issues I mean, but I can help the best I can." He said offering. "Who is this boyfriend my brother hates? And the friend who is ruining the relationship?" He asked curious about them. "I am sorry about your issues as you call them." He said pulling her into a hug.

Poseidon looked at her surprised "A room in the underworld.... why that is a bit depressing. He took your sword away? Well that is not right, that is like me taking Kayleigh's water tricks away or her water bottle I heard she always has with her." He said sighing shaking his head. "Have you met your cousin yet?" He asked wondering the answer.

Savanna was stunned when her uncle apologized to her over a little thing like him looking at her book. Most people never even apologized to Savanna about anything. "Oh, it's fine." Savanna replied a bit awkwardly, not knowing what to say. "I wouldn't expect you to understand girl issues. But, don't you have a daughter? If so, then you'll learn about them soon enough." Savanna threatened teasingly. "My boyfriend is Jonathon Liks; son of Aphrodite. Which is quite funny when you think about it, because he is the son of the Goddess of love and I don't even believe in love." Savanna chuckled softly. "Then, my friend is Anthony MacPherson; son of Erebos. He and my friend Sara live in the Hades cabin with me. We've been friends since forever. And, don't worry about it. I'm sure these issues will go away sooner or later." Savanna was once again shocked when he pulled her into a hug. Savanna hugged him back softly, not knowing why he was so nice to her. Savanna couldn't ever remember a time when her father actually hugged her.

"It's fine. I love in down there. I think of it as my home. Its the closest thing I have to a home considering my past." Savanna sighed when she remember how she had to steal, lie and cheat her way through her adolescent years. Her mother was a first-class whore and her father was evidently not around. She had to teach herself how to grow up. "He took away my powers too. " Savanna commented off-handedly, just letting him know. "No, I haven't met my cousin yet. I'm sure she's heard plenty of horror stories about me though. I'm know as the resident bit-- I mean, female dog." Savanna didn't know if her uncle aloud cussing or whatnot. So, Savanna caught herself instead.

Poseidon nodded when she said it was fine and then continued to listen to her. "Yes I shall find out soon about girl issues if my daughter comes to me about them that is." He said nodding again. He listen to her talk about her boyfriend and her friend along with how she didn't believe in love. "Well a son of Aphrodite eh,, I am on good terms with her. I can see why Hades does not like it, as far as I know the two aren't on good terms but I may be wrong." He said to her resisting to sigh. "Friends forever, that's nice. Yes they should. Nothing stays an issue for.. to long." He said though not really sure if he believed himself.

Poseidon nodded, he understood what it was like, one day he hoped to have a room for Kayleigh in his underwater home. "Took away your powers? Now that is just not right." He said sighing shaking his head. "I am not sure if she has heard that or not. You don't seem like a female dog." He said bursting out laughing. "I'm sorry that is not funny really, just how you said that oh gosh." He said while he stopped laughing.

Savanna listened calmly as her uncle spoke. "I don't know a God or Goddess who is on good terms with my father." Savanna replied smirking. Her father wasn't known for being the most friendliest of people. Far from it actually. "It would be nice, if Anthony could just get over his issues. I broke his nose yesterday when he kissed me. I'm sure he's still in the infirmary. I hurt myself punching him." Savanna showed him her bandaged hand. "Doesn't hurt too bad, I just punched him really hard and my knuckles started to bleed." Savanna stated, a little proud.

Savanna shrugged. "Its fine, I'll be ungrounded soon enough. Until then, I'll just have to manage with no powers and a crappy sword." Savanna smirked when he said that. "Well, that's surprisingly if she hasn't." Savanna remarked lightly. "And, thanks, I'm sure that people at camp would beg to differ, but thanks nonetheless." Savanna replied. Savanna laughed along with him. "Its fine, I was just worried that you would be angry if I used foul language."

Poseidon shrugged and laughed "I don't think I do either." He said looking out to the lake. He sighed staring out, maybe he would go visit Kayleigh after this meeting with his niece and see how she was doing here at the camp so far. Poseidon's eyes widen in surprise as she said she punched her friend in the nose for kissing her. "Great job!" He said patting her back gently as she showed him her hand. "Now if he tries it again just put your fist inches from his nose and warn him. Maybe you won't have to hit him next time." He said laughing.

"That really is boring I bet." he said sighing. He smiled at her "No No I wouldn't be angry" He said laughing.

Savanna laughed along with her uncle, even though she felt kinda bad about talking behind her dad's back. While her dad was spiteful and mean, he really did care about her. Savanna knew that was why she was grounded. It was because he cared too much. "Good job? Wow, that's not the reaction I expected. I would've expected you to scold me or something." Savanna shrugged calmly, her voice laced with amusement. "I'm sure he won't cross me again. I haven't seen him in the cabin since yesterday night. I guess that's because he's at the infirmary. Yet, I'm sure he won't be bothering me for awhile. Even though it would be fun to hit him again." Savanna couldn't remember the last time she punched someone. The last time she did (excluding Anthony) it was when she was fourteen. If her memory was correct, it was an older Hermes kid who tried to steal her sword from James.

"It's not that boring. I mean, like you can tell, I'm using my body a lot more. Kicking and punching are pretty effective." Savanna laughed. "That's good! I can't control what I say sometimes." Savanna sighed at looked at the water. "I would like to meet my cousin eventually. Apparently, I have another one; a Zeus kid. His name is Aaron Chase and he's blind." Savanna didn't know if she should mention the rumors she heard about him. According to Briannon, he was blind because of Zeus. Savanna didn't know if she was supposed to mention it or not.

Poseidon smiled "Yes good job, This is a training camp isn't it? It's about learning to fight so yes good job." He said looking out to the lake again. Poseidon had to laugh as Savanna said "I'm sure he won't cross me again. I haven't seen him in the cabin since yesterday night. I guess that's because he's at the infirmary. Yet, I'm sure he won't be bothering me for awhile. Even though it would be fun to hit him again." He looked at her before speaking. "I'm sure he won't" Poseidon nodded agreeing with her.

"Yes and most likely it will become helpful in fights. You have to explore all options when battling" He said nodding. Poseidon agreed with himself on what he said but he took the water for granted sometimes using it more in a fight then he should.

Poseidon looked towards the forest and quickly back at Savanna as she said she had another cousin by Zeus. He should have seen it coming, but he never thought his brother would have a demigod it never crossed his mind. "Aaron Chase, and he is blind you say? I will have to look into this myself as well." He said nodding more saying the last bit to himself.
